How does RelayMail work?

RelayMail uses email forwarding - you set up your email provider to forward messages to a unique RelayMail address. We then post them to your Slack channel. When you reply in Slack threads, we send the response back as an email. No email credentials are stored.

Which email providers work with RelayMail?

RelayMail works with any email provider that supports forwarding, including Gmail, Outlook/Microsoft 365, Apple Mail/iCloud, Yahoo Mail, Zoho Mail, and custom IMAP servers.

Is my email data secure?

Yes. RelayMail never stores your email credentials. We only receive forwarded emails and send replies through the Resend email infrastructure. Your original email account remains fully under your control.

Can I reply to emails from Slack?

Yes! When an email appears in your Slack channel, simply reply in the thread. RelayMail automatically sends your response as an email back to the original sender, maintaining the conversation thread.

What's the difference between the plans?

Starter ($15/mo) includes up to 1,000 threads per month. Team ($39/mo) includes 3,000 threads and multiple Slack channels. Pro ($149/mo) includes 10,000 threads, custom sender domain so replies come from your own email address, and dedicated support.

What counts as a 'thread'?

A thread is a conversation with a unique sender. If the same person emails you 10 times about the same topic, that's 1 thread. A new email from a different person starts a new thread.

Before you start

A RelayMail account (sign up takes 30 seconds)
Admin access to your Slack workspace
Access to your email account settings

Step-by-step setup

Sign in and create an inbox

Go to relaymail.app and sign in with Slack. Choose a plan to get your unique forwarding address.

Open iCloud Mail settings

Go to icloud.com/mail → Settings (gear icon) → Forwarding. Or on Mac: Mail app → Preferences → Rules.

Create a forwarding rule

Add a new rule that forwards all messages to your RelayMail address. iCloud may require you to verify the address first.

Test the setup

Send a test email to your iCloud address. It should appear in your Slack channel. Reply in the thread to send an email back!

You're all set!

Emails will now appear in your Slack channel. Reply in the thread and your response will be sent as an email.
